What is raw honey and why is it so good? That is easy! Raw honey is honey that has been spun out of natural beeswax honey combs, containing enzymes and natural bee pollen. All the floral essences from the star thistle flowers remain, to give our honey an amazing nose and taste, along with a very smooth finish. Our raw honey is not processed and ultra filtered like mass-produced commercial honeys are. Our honey is not stripped of flavors and goodness. Sleeping Bear Farms raw honey is not heated to high temperatures to push through filters. We avoid this process because heat destroys enzymes and flavors. The jar will have specs of pollen and natural beeswax. It may also have an occasional honeybee leg (no worries, this is perfectly safe!). These are our “bona fides” and are our evidence of genuineness.

We love your raw honey. We buy it every summer when we are in Michigan and usually have a stash of it at our home in Florida. Just about to run out tho, so order 4 jars on the internet. It was easy and fast and I'm now safe for another couple of months at least. Thanks.

I had this honey when visiting friends in Michigan and now I order it to Philadelphia because it is the best honey I have ever eaten!

I discovered this raw star thistle honey about five years ago. Marvelous! The flavour is divine. I have not bought any other honey since. I even took a jar to England in 2023 where I lived for a year. Back stateside now 17 months and am stuck in Florida…but at least I can purchase this honey again!
